Kaufman Lions Serve
We had more than one amazing team of Lions this past Saturday supplying new beds to kids who need their own spot to lay their head each night. This Build A Bed team included Lions Joshua Garcia, Jim Woods, Julie Woods and Jerry Parker. As mentioned before, these beds, twin and bunk style, are constructed by Sleep In Heavenly Peace and built by volunteers. Often these volunteers are Lions. From there they are distributed and delivered to those in need. Construction is completed on site and bedding is added, as well.
We are so pleased to bring this wonderful service to our community. WE SERVE and we bring smiles to those in need.
Joseph had a great morning with fellow Lion Jerry Parker and Curtis Green taking part with others for Sleep In Heavenly Peace. A nonprofit that builds and delivers beds to children without one. Kaufman Lions are hoping to get it started for our area code.
So proud of these Lions as they deliver beds right here in Kaufman for children who don’t have a bed of their own! Lions Joseph Russell, Amy Fowler, Becky Barber and Jordan McFarlin spent a few hours of their Saturday to brighten the lives of some young people in need. The beds include complete bedding and are either twin or bunks. The smile on the faces of the recipients is worth every second spent. Just another way WE SERVE our community.

Many members of multiple District 2X1 clubs were represented. Our club has participated multiple times and it is a very gratifying hands on experience. Some of these beds will be used at the Texas Lions Camp in Fredericksburg. Attending today were Lions Amy Fowler, her sons Leos Cayden and Jace, Lions Tasha Manning, Becky Barber and Chet McDonald.
