The scholarship winner for the $8000 goes to Leo Laney Gould. She is going to the University of Arizona in Tuscon. She will major in Physiology and medical sciences. She will then go on to medical school to become an Esthesiologist.
The Vocational scholarship of $2500 went to Christian Kinnibrugh. He will be going to a 2 year technical school in Dallas.

Governor Fred Conger. At the District 2X1 Grass Roots Banquet, our very own Lion Jim Woods received the “Grass Roots Lion” Award. It is designed to recognize a Club’s “up and coming” Lion who has been a Lion for just five years or less, but has been exemplary to the spirit of lionism through deeds and service to others. We are very proud and thankful to Lion Woods for all the effort he has put forth on behalf of our club. WE SERVE.
Saturday, February 19, 2023, several Lions made their way to Waxahachie with many other Lions from District 2X1. Our mission was to build about 150 bunk beds for the Texas Lions Camp’s new camp sleeping quarters! We came home with lots of sawdust and a few sore muscles but we got the job done. A great day to be a Lion!

Our club is honored to have our first Branch Club! Bee-Happy Lions Club with Lion Shelley Brookins at the helm will give these fine folks the opportunity to participate in structured community service. It is going to be so inspiring to see them grow as they serve others.
The Branch Club was chartered December 20, 2022.
The first ever Kaufman Lions Day of Champions (August 2022) is in the books. What an amazing experience for all involved! A large group of Lions spent a few hours with KISD junior high and high school students, faculty and administrators today. Two special gentlemen presented a very inspirational and motivational program. Lion Jim Wood coordinated this event and we were not disappointed. If you have students in KISD junior high or hig school, please ask them about their experience. We would love to hear from you! In May of 2022 Lion Chet McDonald received the Grass Roots Achievement award.
A group of Lions went to Arlington, TX to the National Cemetary to help clean headstones prior to Veterans Day. It was a District Project
