The Story of the Kaufman Lion’s Club

The Kaufman Lions Club was Chartered July 17, 1928

WHAT WE DO!

Over the years the Kaufman Lions Club has donated time and money to various projects from food baskets at Christmas, eggs for Easter egg hunts and school supplies for needy students. Supporting the schools by purchasing band uniforms and equipment in 1959, a piano in 1954, football uniforms, curtains for the stage as well as lighting in 1953. Collecting and donating clothing for Hurricane Buela victims in 1967. Over the years we continue to support many of the local charities that serve our area.

We are an active group of community members reaching out to better our community.

2026 Installation Dinner

Each year around this time, there is a changing of the guard. A new leader steps up to continue the spirit of Lionism and protect its integrity. This year, we are very honored to announce our new president is Lion Jeff Lane. Lion Jeff has been a faithful member for over 7 years and also served as a board member. The Kaufman Lions club thanks Past President Lion David Asbill for his service to the club this past year! It literally takes a village to keep the wheels turning at KLC and we’re thankful for each member and their contributions. We SERVE together!

The Kaufman Lions Club was well represented at the District 2X1 Convention. Lions Jim Woods, Julie Woods, Chet McDonald, Robert Parker and his wife Paulette enjoyed dinner before the awards were presented. Lion Jim Woods received a Membership award as cochair of the committee headed by Lion Mike Williams. Our club received another award for sponsoring our Cub Club led by Lion Julie Estes. Lion Robert Parker was all smiles as he received the Grass Roots recognition. He was chosen for his leadership in establishing the first hub in the Kaufman County area in coordination with Sleep In Heavenly Peace. Along with a team of Lions, they build and deliver beds for children who have no bed of their own. We have so many fine leaders in our club and we are so proud to call ourselves Kaufman Lions. WE SERVE!
